Northwest Bookfest a fall festival of literary readings and presentations provided by booksellers and publishers. Hundreds of booths, readings, and exhibitions.


Organizations

East Site Writers Association a member organization supporting writers working in all genres. Holds membership meetings and workshops.

Northwest Science Fiction Society This site represents one of the largest Science Fiction groups in the world. They organize outings and have discussions.

Salon Productions is a non-profit art organization that sponsors spoken word and poetry readings at Seattle cafes.

Seattle Community Network - Arts links to arts organizations and resources in a range of media, including literature.


Publications

Clear-cut: Anthology a document of current Seattle literature. It will acquaint you with known and many unknown writers thriving here.

Fine Madness a print-based international journal of poetry.

Raven Chronicles publishes work that reflects the cultural diversity and multitude of viewpoints in the Pacific Northwest and other regions. Site includes current issue, events, notices, links to other sites, and a forum.

Sewerscape is the brainchild of visual artist Gweedo Babcock and writer Michael J. Neff. An experiment in large-scale collaboration, we feature artists from all over the country who want to participate in our online community. The content is diverse, including bi-weekly (or weekly, depending on the muse) columns, a literary arts section, a gallery; new departments are being added monthly. We encourage anyone interested in the arts to check us out, and all artists interested in showing on the web to submit their work. (Seattle, WA)


Readings

Seattle Arts & Lectures a non-profit organization that believes the literary arts is a vital art form uniquely able to expand our understanding and perceptions of the human experience. Organizes outstanding lecture series and brings international talent to Seattle.

Seattle Book Group a local book club that has been reading together for three years.

Seattle Poets features the poetry of several Seattle artists. Includes links to other poetry sites and a selection of the webmaster's favorite works.

Subtext The Subtext@Speakeasy reading series is a collaborative effort by Seattle-area writers and readers interested in new writing.
