Artists' Legal Clinic is a drop-in service providing artists with advice on specific art-related legal questions. Lawyers hold office hours every second and fourth Monday of the month from 2-4 p.m. The Clinic is sponsored by the Washington Lawyers for the Arts in cooperation with Artist Trust. Digimarc is a corporation that specializes in watermark software. This software can add a digitized watermark to your image in order to give it copyright branding. Anyone who views your watermarked image containing your unique identifier will know who you are and how to contact you. In addition, you can have a "spider" look for your watermarked image on the internet and report back if anyone is using it illegally.

Seattle Public Access Network PAN - the official website of the City of Seattle. Consists of a free public World Wide Web site and e-mail list server, operated and directly funded by the City of Seattle since February, 1995. The primary purpose of PAN is to serve as an electronic City Hall, allowing Seattle citizens to communicate with City officials and obtain City information and services electronically. In addition, PAN hosts other local, primarily non-commercial content, particularly useful to Seattle citizens, communities, visitors, and businesses alike.

COPYRIGHT

For the time being, there isn't a comprehensive Northwest Website that is dedicated to providing basic information on copyright issues tailored to artists. However, Seattle Independant Film and Video Consortium offers an extensive link listing on their site. Also, Washington Lawyers for Arts is currently building a website and we will feature it when it goes on-line. For the time being, please check out our National section for more copyright information.
