Edge Effects A collection of contemporary short fiction. Most of the stories are about human relationships in today's (and tomorrow's) high stress, high tech, western society. As "managing editor" of the site, I give preference to stories that have a certain gritty realism and reflect the more visceral aspects of human need and impulse.

Metropolitan Museum of Art World Wide Arts Resources provides the largest and most comprehensive gateway to the arts on the Internet, including a huge database of Literature links.

Moondance Women Artists and Writers International (WAWI) has been in existence for two years and publishes "Moondance: Celebrating Creative Women," an electronic magazine. This website is sustaining an average of 65,000 hits per month!

Plumb Design Visual Thesaurus an exploration of sense relationships within the English language. By clicking on words, you follow a thread of meaning, creating a spatial map of linguistic associations. The Visual Thesaurus was built using "Thinkmap", a data-animation technology developed by Plumb Design.

Project Gutenberg makes information, books and other materials available to the general public in forms a vast majority of the computers, programs and people can easily read, use, quote, and search. The NY Times ranked this site as "Unmissable." (8/20/97) "...[Project Gutenberg] contains everything from famous novels to obscure textbooks, all available completely free for anyone to download."

Writer's Resource Page offers resources & career assistance to writers.

Sewerscape is an experiment in large-scale collaboration, featuring artists from all over the country who want to participate in an online community. The content is diverse, including bi-weekly (or weekly, depending on the muse) columns, a literary arts section, a gallery; new departments are being added monthly. We encourage anyone interested in the arts to check us out, and all artists interested in showing on the web to submit their work.

Western States Arts Federation Site includes a huge list of literary links. WESTAF is a non-profit arts service organization dedicated to the creative advancement and preservation of the arts of the western states.
